STUDENT AGREEMENT TERMS

Manual Lymph Drainage

The following agreement is made between the student registering for the program indicated on the registration form and the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.

Confirmation
After acceptance into the program, each student will receive a confirmation letter indicating the exact starting and ending times as well as pertinent information about the location of the course.

Class Times
A total of 135 hours of instruction is provided in the Full CDT Certification Course comprised of 105 hours of classroom instruction and 30 hours of home study. Class hours during the first week are Monday through Saturday 8:00am–6:00pm. Class hours during the second week are Monday through Friday 8:00am–6:00pm and Saturday 8:00am–2:00pm.

Home Study Course
A Home Study Course is sent to each student prior to the start of class. This portion of the training consists of a thorough Home Study Course Manual, a Reference Manual, and two DVDs covering various lymphedema topics. Although the "Textbook of Lymphology" is offered with tuition, it is not part of the course curriculum and is in no way required for the course. It is meant as an optional reference for the practicing therapist. Approximately 30 hours of home study are expected of each student prior to the first day of class. The Home Study Course will provide an opportunity for each student to develop a more extensive knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the lymphatic system and will significantly enhance the learning process in the theoretical and practical stages of the training.

Tuition
The tuition for the Full CDT Certification Course is $2,600. A deposit of $500 is required at the time of registration and will hold a spot in the course until the remaining balance is received no later than two (2) weeks prior to the first day of class. Tuition and deposit amounts are payable in U.S. currency only.

Refund Policy
$100 of the deposit is non-refundable. Upon receipt of the Home Study Course materials, $250 will become non-refundable. If a student opts to receive the "Textbook of Lymphology" with registration, the textbook cannot be returned and an additional $200 of the deposit will become non-refundable. The full deposit amount will become non-refundable two (2) weeks prior to the first day of class. Withdrawal or dismissal of a student after the class has begun but prior to 50% completion of the class will result in a refund of 50% of the entire tuition. The entire tuition will become non-refundable after 50% of the class is completed regardless of the reason for withdrawal or dismissal. Refunds are processed in the order they are requested and are issued 4-6 weeks from the date of request.

Attendance
100% attendance is expected of each student. Students missing more than five (5) hours of the class may not be permitted to take the final exam and may not receive a certificate of completion.

Certificate of Completion
In order to receive a certification of completion, students must pass the written and practical exams as required by the instructor.

Purpose of the Training
The student agrees that the purpose of the training is to become proficient in the techniques of Manual Lymph Drainage and Complete Decongestive Therapy. Although the student is free to distribute information concerning lymphedema upon completion of the course, the student shall not under any circumstances train or certify any other person in MLD or CDT unless granted instructor status by the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy.

Withdrawal and Dismissal
Withdrawal from the program may result in a loss of deposit/tuition monies. Any student may be dismissed from the program for insufficient progress, non-payment of tuition, or non-attendance. Reinstatement following dismissal is at the discretion of the instructor.

Cancellation of Classes
If the course is cancelled because of insufficient registration, all monies received will be refunded or transferred to another class as elected by the registrant. In the case of cancellation of the class for any other reason, a new course will be scheduled and all payments will be transferred. In the event that the instructor falls ill, the class will be rescheduled.
