Lymphedema Therapy in Oncology Rehab: Why Cancer Care Teams Need CLTs
A CLT is trained to evaluate and manage lymphedema using specialized skills such as manual lymph drainage, compression bandaging, skin care education, exercise instruction, garment recommendations, risk-reduction strategies, and long-term self-management planning. For oncology rehab programs, having CLTs on the team can improve continuity of care, help patients recognize symptoms earlier, and support survivors through a complex and often emotional recovery process.
