This exciting scholarship program was created to address the significant need for well-trained lymphedema therapists in the United States. At present, Germany has approximately one Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) for every 1,300 residents while the United States has approximately one CLT for every 100,000 residents. Both the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy and Jobst believe the pronounced lack of therapists in the US is due in part to low awareness of the specialty among existing health care professionals. We believe that scholarships sponsored by dedicated industry leaders such as Jobst and the Norton School can draw attention to the overwhelming need for more education in the field. It is our sincere belief that this scholarship opportunity will allow talented and passionate health care professionals to pursue a rewarding career in lymphedema management.
The Scholarship
The Jobst Certified Lymphedema Therapist Scholarship will make awards to be applied toward the full lymphedema certification course with the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy. These awards will cover the cost of tuition for deserving applicants. The deadline for application is February 29th, 2012.
